About Don Farr Moving and Storage

4920 Buttermilk Hollow Road
West Mifflin, Pennsylvania

In 1982, Don Fix was being contracted for work at Miller’s Furniture, in Pittsburgh, PA. When this company closed, they sold their 14’ Ford F-600 to Don and he began this small company with that truck and used his own 600 square foot garage at home for storage. Subsequently, he named it Don Farr Moving and Storage. This company grew slowly to four trucks (24 ft. box trucks) and a crew of 20 employees.

Damaged EVERY piece of valuable furniture.

Do NOT even consider this company. They damaged most of our valuable furniture, at one point even standing our couch on its arm in a mud puddle! Every time I saw them damage something and asked politely for them to be careful, they literally started dropping boxes marked Fragile! They were the most unprofessional individuals I have ever worked with. I will never be able to replace all the furniture they damaged and they just kept telling me not to worry because I can just file a claim. I now have to fight for months to recover a fraction of what my furniture is worth.

The guys are not trained on safely packing your precious belongings on the truck so every piece of furniture that I had taken care of for 30 years in perfect condition has been ALL DAMAGED in just one day....I am devastated....and they rush you to write a review as soon as you go in the door before you have a chance to look around and see the damaged...I am just so sad as I sit in my new place and look around at all the damage of furniture and walls....please use another company and save your self some heartache...

Horrible Experience

We got transferred from Mars PA to Lebanon Ohio, near Cincinnati. The company was paying 100% of the cost of the move. Nick the owner's son said they do this all the time with companies and not to worry about costs in payments from company. As the company will pay 100%. Don Farr was one of three companies we got quotes from. He quoted me at 9000 lb, I said better make it 14 as the other companies had said 14000 pounds. Ended up being over 15,000 pounds. One week before we were about to move they called about the down payment. I said the company will send out the down payment same week. We went back and forth about confirming the move date since they did not have the down payment. The day of the move we had five guys show up to pack our things. They stayed about 6 hours and I fed them pizza and drinks. Second day they showed up 4 guys showed up to continue packing and they were only there for 4 hours. The day that they were loading the truck only two guys showed up. We had a going away
