About G&J Moving LLC

7908 B Kincannon Place
Lorton, Virginia

G&J Moving and Storage is family owned and operated business. The company was founded in 2010 in Virginia . At that time, I was moving our customers by myself with my cousin. I received a lot of real moving experience. I understood what our customers expect from the moving crews, how to properly protect our customer’s belongings, furniture and how to prevent any damages. We believed in a simple philosophy. If we are honest with people and provide excellent service, customers will rely on us and trust us… And our philosophy paid off. We now have an infrastructure including, a 5000 sq ft warehouse, 8 trucks, 25 employees, a proven and dependable network of nationwide carriers and a government contract with the Department of Defense.

They dropped our dresser down the stairs

Mo (the Foreman) and his crew dropped our Arhaus dresser down the stairs. Prior to starting the work, I specifically told Mo that the Master Bedroom set was the most important items we had and to be extra careful. As soon as it was unwrapped at the new place, there was very obvious and visible damage both on the exterior and structural. Mo assured me that this was 100% there fault and that they would take care of it - not to worry. I took him at his word and even gave him a nice tip ($200) for all their work assuming that they were people of their word. As soon as they left, they stopped caring.

It took a dozen emails with Alexander Yakimovich and 6 weeks for them to come pick up the dresser saying they would fix it.

It took another 6 weeks and another dozen emails for them to return it and they only fixed one of the 3 major external issues (and poorly). As soon as they delivered it I pointed it out that they hand't fixed it and there answer was "that wasn't us - sorry". When I reached out to Alexander Yakimovich again, he said he didn't bother to check the work and he could send the repair guy to our house. Seeing what a second rate job they had already done, I asked them to replace the dresser that they dropped down the stairs and he refused.

Having moved about a dozen times in the last decade for work, I've never seen a moving company show such disregard for their mistakes. All movers make mistakes - but they own it and make you whole. These guys don't! Stay away.
