They showed up to my house in Plano Texas with a transfer truck to small to load my furniture . A huge guy named Zack says we will not be taking 2 couches and your bbq as well as fridge and washer dryer !! which left me in huge predicament.... Zack also called me 20 days before my free 30 days of storage was up and said pay me the 500 dollar for one month of storage or we will sell all your furniture!! I have had corporate moves and personal moves and this company is a total SCAM !! Go with the well known names but please do not go with these guys and if Zack shows up it's a SCAM On the final note after telling Zack that I will give him new address in Los Angeles in 60 days I was informed your furniture is on route just figure it out. Please listen to me on this save yourself huge headach

This company is full of crooks! The salesperson and manager made all sorts of promises to me when I booked the service - guaranteed delivery date, binding, not to exceed quote; etc. I've moved a dozen times in my adult life and know exactly how moving companies can tack on fees, change dates, etc. This is why I had such frank discussions with Texas movers Group about it - I wanted to protect myself from being taken advantage of... unfortunately, no amount of due diligence could protect me from these horrible people.
The problems began as the movers arrived 4 hours late to pack our belongings. Then the main guy, Zach, pulls me aside and tells me I have more stuff than he anticipated (even though he did the walk through estimate of my house himself) and that we would likely be going over the estimate and will need to pay an additional 50% cost!! He pretended to be completely unaware of the "not to exceed" clause I had written into the estimate.. he also told me at the time that our items would no longer be delivered on the date that the manager had previously guaranteed, but instead a week later. I called the manager, Michelle who was rude, disrespectful, and had no concern for the thousands of dollars it was going to cost me to put my family of 7 in a hotel for that extra time. She tells me that the delay is unavoidable due to weather (even though, at that time, the move-in date was still 2 weeks away).
After all was said and done, the movers told us that we needed another truck (because we would not fit in the 53' truck we contracted). We paid for the extra truck and a higher price for its contents than the initial contract price for the first.
Two weeks later, they arrived on the date initially discussed. The crew was a group of random men contracted out by TMG. They spent the entire day in shock about the condition of our items and the way they were packed improperly. The amount of damage is immeasurable. They crammed everything into one 53' truck (after taking our money for the second trick) and didn't bother crating items that were even specifically discussed and written in the estimate/contract.
The second group of movers left without finishing - saying they were only contracted to a certain time. They told us another crew would come in the morning to reassemble our beds, move boxes to correct rooms, lay out rugs, etc. Many of our boxes were and furniture were left out of place and, unsurprisingly, TMG refused to send anyone to finish the job. We have currently spent over $1000 additionally on labor to finish our move-in.
I've never experienced anything like this. It is clear that this company never intended to follow through on its promises and I'm not sure that anyone we worked with had any experience packing or unpacking. They packed televisions loose in large boxes surrounded by fragile item and having no paper/packaging for protection. Every box was bent and damaged at arrival and there was broken glass (from my shatter possessions) in almost every box.
