Very disappointed in this moving company.
very disappointed in this moving company. Will update review once things are resolved. Was recommended by a friend who used them for a move and were very satisfied, however, I have a different experience. I am very disappointed. When I first called, I was told that it would be $85/hr for a three man crew and a fee for the truck, insurance, and fuel. I tried to verify to ensure that movers were confirmed for the date I needed them and got the run around. This was after reaching out a month prior to prevent any miscommunication. Eventually I was able to get a hold of Mark and confirmed a time the day prior to the move.
Movers that showed up were very friendly. Part way into the move another truck and mover showed up addition to what I had requested and confirmed for. I was not informed that I would be charged for this mover. I asked why there was another mover and truck and was told that they "looked up the house and it seemed like they may need more space than the U-Haul they had". I had already talked to Mark prior to the movers coming that the house is big, however, I had everything packed and just needed help moving the furniture which was my sectional, king size bed set, dining table, washer, dryer and a few other items. The additional truck and mover was not necessary. My move did not fill up the original truck. Movers were done within a few hours, I was charged $500 and was told that there would be a 4% fee to use my credit card. Totaling the cost to $520. I was not told there would be a fee when I contacted Mark to ask what forms of payment he would take. If that were the case I would have paid in case. Upon leaving the movers leaving the new home I gave each a very generous tip for their services. I contacted Mark via text to ask him for the break down of the costs because they did not add up to what I was expecting to pay for the move. This moving company does not have the customer sign off on the move like I am use to with movers in the past. I move about once every year, so I have dealt with many movers.
I went back to the old home to do a walk through and noticed scratches on the wood flooring from where the washer and dryer was wrapped up. Mark contacted me to see how the move went after I asked him for the break down of the costs and I addressed the scratches on the wood flooring and he asked for pictures. He never addressed my original request for the break down of the costs of the move. I send him the pictures and heard no response from him. Andrew, one of the movers, contacted me and asked me where the scratches were located and that he would get back with me after talking to the rest of the crew that was there. I waited a few hours and heard nothing back so I contacted Mark again asking if he received the pictures I sent. He asked if anyone contacted me and I told him Andrew contacted me but did not hear anything back after he said he would check with the other crew members. Shortly after Andrew gave me a call and said he would stop by the house the following day to see if he was able to fix the scratches on the flooring.
The following day, Andrew showed up at the house and tried to fix the scratches on the wood flooring and was unable to. He said he would go to Home Depot and see what recommendations they had and he would let his boss, Mark, know that he was unable to fix the scratches on the wood flooring. Few hours alter I reached out to Andrew to ask if he had any luck finding a solution at Home Depot and he said No and that he talked to Mark and he should be getting back with me on a solution. I thanked him and following day still have not heard back from Mark about a solution.
*Update, it has been over a week and Mark has still not returned any of my phone calls or text messages, not only did he over charge me but he scratched up the floors in the home I was moving out of. Strongly do not recommend this moving company.
