About Mission Transportation

4535 30th street, Suite 213
San Diego, California

Our owners have literally grown up in the moving industry. Since childhood we have seen what works and what doesn’t work. Learning from other company’s success and failures has helped us become the great company we are today. We specialize in out of state relocation, which can sometimes feel like a more grueling and inconvenient process than of that local moves. We are here to do what we can to minimize that inconvenience and stress.

Stolen Truck

I contracted with Mission Transportation on 5/12/19 to move my household goods across country. The binding estimate was lower than the cost presented when the truck was loaded. I was told to call the owner of the company on 5/13/19 to discuss the cost difference and see what accomodations could be offered. I left to drive from CA ot TN on 5/13 and attempted to call the owner on 5/13, 5/14, 5/15, 5/16, and 5/17. Calls were not returned. At approximately 5:15 EDT the owner called me to notify me the truck had been stolen and I'd lost EVERYTHING. The theft occured the same day the truck was loaded and was reported to the S.D. Sheriff's dept. but when I called to get a copy of the police report for insuranc purposes, I was told the truck had been reported stolen, but not the cargo. I filed a separate report as the owner of the cargo in order to obtain a "victims" copy for insurance purposes. Police reports and investigations have indicated; 1. The truck was parked on the street, not in a secured, locked, gated, facility. 2. The truck did not have a tracking device. 3. The truck was taken the same day it was loaded. 4.The driver of the truck had the keys.
On 5/31, the truck was found in an unincorporated area in Escondido. The contents had been ransacked. It appeared some contents had been left outside on the ground, dirty and encrusted with dead snails and other debris. There were indications that the perpetrators had partied inside the truck. My family members went to photograph and retrieve the contents of the truck for me. I was unable to recognize any furniture or belongings from the photos. It will take a minimum of one week to inventory what is left, and repack any contents that are not damaged for transport to their final destination. I will have to rent a truck and find someone to move everything for me, as I have lost trust in this company. As of 6/5/19 Mission Transportation continued to employ the driver of the truck, who was unavailable to answer questions regarding the case, as he was currently working. If changes have been made to ensure the safety of any consumer's goods entrusted to this moving company, I have not seen evidence of it. I feel violated, as one would if they had been a victim of a home robbery. Insurance won't cover heirlooms, photograaphs, or gifts from the heart; a little man my grandson whitted out of wood for me, a dolphin he sculpted out of metal, A music box my late husband carved out of ebony - the things that make life special. My heart is broken.
